MDC-T deputy president and non-constituency National Assembly member Thokozani Khupe has donated maize seed to 60 villagers in Bubi District saying she does not want to see people die of starvation, Zimbabwe Focus reported.
Khupe has a homestead in the district which has a drip irrigation system installed by an Israeli firm connected to Nikuv.
Nikuv's sister company, Pedstock Investments, supplied and installed drip irrigation equipment at Tsvangirai's rural home homestead in Humanikwa village in Buhera, Manicaland, some time last year.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Thokozani Khuphe, the MDC-T vice-president, also allegedly benefited or bought the same drip irrigation equipment, and Tsvangirai's trusted lieutenant and chief secretary, Ian Makone, and his wife, Theresa, who is the former home affairs minister and the MDC-T Women's Assembly leader, also had a drip irrigation system installed at her Domboshava home.
Theresa Makone confirmed that Pedstock had installed irrigation systems at her Domboshava home, at Tsvangirai's Buhera home and at Khuphe's home.
Nikuv stand accused of rigged July 31 elections in favour of Zanu PF.
Donating the maize seed, Khupe said that the Zanu-PF led government should not be importing maize from Zambia to avert hunger.
"I do not want my neighbours to go hungry hence why I donate every year" she is quoted saying by Radio Dialogue.
"With drip irrigation, Zimbabweans will never go hungry and these are schemes which government should adopt so that the people of Zimbabwe would not go hungry.
Instead of buying maize in Zambia, government must take that money and invest it towards drip irrigation" said Khupe.
