Man (23) caught red-handed trying to rape girl (12)

A 23-year-old Binga man, Obriel Ndlovu was on Thursday convicted of attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl.
Ndlovu met the girl, who stays in the same village with him, while she was walking along a secluded path in Lusulu on May 22 this year.
He grabbed and dragged her into a nearby bush where he tried to rape her.
The father of the girl who happened to be passing by the area noticed from a distance that his daughter was in trouble and rescued her with the help of a colleague.
Ndlovu ran away with the girl's father in hot pursuit.
They caught him after he entered a certain homestead where he tried to hide.
Ndlovu pleaded guilty to attempted rape when he appeared before Binga resident magistrate Stephen Ndlovu.
The magistrate convicted him and remanded him in custody to May 30 for sentence
