A MANGWE man received the shock of his life when he walked in on his 22-year-old livestock minder having sex with his 12-year-old niece.
The livestock minder told the court that he had made love to his employer's niece on several occasions as they were in love.
Plumtree magistrate, Mr Gideon Ruvetsa, heard that Shadreck Moyo went to Mizikayifani Ndlovu's homestead to request him to run an errand, the Sunday News reported.
He walked into the house and found Ndlovu having sex with his niece who stays with him.
Ndlovu was convicted on his own plea of guilty to having sex with a minor. He was sentenced to nine months imprisonment of which three months were suspended conditionally.
The remaining six months were suspended on condition that he performs 210 hours of community service at Patse Primary School.
Prosecuting, Mr Medica Tshuma narrated how the two love birds were caught red handed on 21 January.
"On 24 December last year Ndlovu invited the complainant to his place. They had sex and the juvenile spent the night at his place and returned home on the following morning.
"Her uncle inquired of her whereabouts and she revealed that she had spent the night at a friend's place. On 21 January the juvenile returned to Ndlovu's home without informing her uncle. Her uncle visited Ndlovu's home and found him having sex with her," said Mr Tshuma.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Ndlovu's arrest.
"I have been making love to my girlfriend for a while because we are in love and we agreed that we would have sex," Ndlovu told the court.
