GWANDA Home of the Aged, the only old people's home in Matabeleland South province, is seeking funding for the building of a new residential block to accommodate more elderly people as more families apply to place their aged relatives into the home's care.
Gwanda Home of the Aged chairperson Rido Mpofu told a meeting that they intended building a new hostel to expand the home's intake of old people because of the overwhelming applications they were currently receiving.
"We have received many applications, but right now we cannot accept more intakes and that's why we plan to build another residential block so as to accommodate the aged and less privileged members of our society," he said.
Mpofu said this could only be achieved if stakeholders and well-wishers pooled resources together for this worthy cause.
