A 29-YEAR-OLD Victoria Falls man, who scalded his "small house" with boiling water following a misunderstanding over their child, was convicted of domestic violence when he appeared in court yesterday.
He is due to be sentenced today.
The Southern Eye reported that Shingai Mlambo of Chinotimba appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate Sharon Rosemani for contravening a section of the Domestic Violence Act after he poured boiling water on his lover Tryagain Dube and leaving her with burns all over her body.
It was the State's case as presented by prosecutor Listen Nare that on January 5, Mlambo went to Dube's lodgings in Chinotimba and questioned why she had taken their child to her rural home without his permission.
Mlambo allegedly assaulted Dube several times and then lifted a tin of boiling water from the fire place and poured it on her.
A report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
