Man sodomises cousin, offers bicycle

A 35-year-old Plumtree man offered his teenage cousin a bicycle a few minutes after sodomising him. Prosecutors say the man (name withheld), pounced on his unsuspecting cousin aged 15 while he was preparing to take a bath and sexually abused him.
The man appeared before magistrate, Livard Philimoni, charged with aggravated indecent assault and was remanded in custody to February 22.
It is alleged that on September 7, 2013 at around 11AM the juvenile was playing with his friends at a place near his home.
The accused then approached the complainant as he returned from Bhulu Business Centre and said he would accompany him to his home because he wanted to visit his sister.
Along the way, the two met the sister and the complainant left his cousin talking to her and proceeded towards home intending to take a bath.
When he got home he went to his bedroom to fetch his clothes, preparing to take a bath.
A few minutes later, his cousin arrived and entered the same bedroom. He drew the curtains and closed the door.
The court heard that the accused ordered his cousin to remove his pair of shorts and lie on the bed facing downwards. He allegedly unzipped his trousers and sodomised the boy.
After the sickening act, the accused persuaded his cousin not to tell anyone and promised to give him a bicycle as payment.
A medical report and a T-shirt used to wipe the accused's semen were produced in court as evidence.
