'Mugabe was given us by God'

Chief Sikhobokhobo of Nkayi has called on Zimbabweans to accept President Robert Mugabe's rule as he was sent to them by God.

Chief Sikhobokhobo, a war veteran, made the remarks at a party to celebrate Zanu PF Nkayi North  member of the national assembly Sithembiso Nyoni's electoral victory in last year's elections in Nkayi.

"When God sets something, we must not question him. President Mugabe was given us by God so we must accept his leadership," the chief said.

"The President is such a loving and respectful man. I will tell you today that he knows me by name and has so much respect for me."

Chief Sikhobokhobo went on to narrate how Mugabe once asked him to sit next to him for the entire duration of a function.

"Imagine me a Chief  sitting next to the President for an entire duration of a function. It was such an honour," he said.
