Scorpion kills 6-yr-old boy

A six-year old Maphisa boy from Ntabansimbi village died after succumbing to a scorpion sting whilst putting on his shoes.

The incident that occurred last week was confirmed by the police.

Patson Nyathi was stung by the scorpion at around 7pm on 20 March that had hibernated in his shoe which had been left outside the kitchen hut.

Patson screamed for help as a result alerting her aunt who rushed her to Beula clinic, about 4km away.

Unfortunately the young boy died on his way to the clinic.

The area is known to be infested with deadly scorpions.
