A 56-YEAR-OLD Plumtree woman was flogged by her neighbour for allegedly letting her goats stray into his fields.
Timothy Ncube, 32, followed Ritah Mpofu to her homestead during the evening and locked her up in her bedroom.
He produced a whip and started flogging her demanding replacement of his destroyed crops.
Neighbours came to Mpofu's rescue after they heard her screaming.
Prosecuting, Medica Tshuma said on March 21, Ncube found the complainant's goats grazing in his fields.
He then informed the complainant who drove her goats away.
"On the same day Ncube followed Mpofu to her homestead and found her alone. He then locked her in her bedroom and flogged her with a whip demanding replacement of his destroyed crops," said Tshuma.
In passing judgement Plumtree magistrate Gideon Ruvetsa said people should learn to solve disputes amicably.
He ordered Ncube to pay $40 or spend 10 days in prison.
