Tsvangirai flies into Mat North Storm

MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai descends on faction riddled Matabeleland North province at the centre of a power struggle within two factions.
Tsvangirai is expected to address a rally in Victoria Falls and also bring together warring factions in the province. The chaos at the structure started when a vote of no confidence was passed on the Sengezo Tshabangu led provincial executive last month.
Tshabangu's executive was replaced by an interim one led by Thembinkosi Sibindi.
However, the Tshabangu led executive says the vote of no confidence is a nullity as it is not provided for in the constitution.
MDC-T spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora confirmed the rally.
"The president of the party as part of the party's programme to get in touch with the grassroots support will hold a rally in Victoria Falls," Mwonzora said.
He was however non committal on whether Tsvangirai would address deepening divisions.
The party last week announced that it had lifted all suspensions on members but Sibindi still insists that he is the chairperson of the province.
The rally also comes at the backdrop of a decision by MDC-T to fire deputy treasure Elton Mangoma among other party members as the party moved in to thwart calls of leadership renewal.
