200 court records disappear

A Plumtree senior magistrate facing charges of abuse of office following the disappearance of close to 200 court records between 2009 and 2012 yesterday blamed the clerks of court for hiding the documents and entering false information in registers.

Stephen Mavuna appeared before magistrate Trinos Wutawashe at the Bulawayo Regional Court.

Mavuna, who is being charged with abuse of office, implicated clerks of court from Plumtree magistrates court whom he alleged were in the habit of hiding records of proceedings.
