Inconsistent water supplies hit Gwanda again for much of the day today amid fears of an outbreak of waterborne diseases.
The town has in the past two weeks had erratic water supplies owing to burst pipes.
Residents in high lying areas of Spitzkop could be seen carrying buckets of water on their heads to prepare for supper.
"It's been two weeks now since we had running water and council has not even bothered to supply us with water," fumed a resident.
The shortage of water comes at a time when council management is exhibiting at the on going Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
Some enterprising drivers spend the day ferrying water to residents of the sprawling township.
"It's a way of assisting each other, its not like we wish the problem to persist but we need money for fuel too - we playing even," said one of the transporters.
The municipality has said it's working on acquiring a booster pump to ease the problem of water in Spitzkop and Ultra high townships.
The construction of a five-mega litre water reservoir in Spitzkop which is set to put an end to perennial water problems in the mining town is currently on hold because government is failing to fund the completion of the half built water tank.
