Woman (96) commits suicide

A 96-YEAR OLD year-old woman allegedly killed herself by jumping into the Gwayi River in Sipepa area.

Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Siphiwe Makonese said police have ruled out foul play in the incident that has left villagers shell-shocked.

Sindebe Moyo's body was found floating in the river by Gift Mhlanga (16).

He informed villagers and they reported the issue to the police.

Insp Makonese said police were yet to establish a motive for the suicide.

Insp Makonese said Moyo's relatives discovered she was missing on Monday morning and a search party was organized.

Before the party could go out, a group of villagers informed them about her suicide.
