A Gwanda man died on Sunday evening from injuries he sustained in a road accident at Mtshabezi turn-off along the Gwanda-Bulawayo road en-route to collect congregates of the African Apostolic Church who held a Holy Communion in Nswazi village over the weekend.
The yet to be identified man who was traveling with a member of the African Apostolic Church who is a police officer reportedly lost control of the Toyota Granvia they were travelling in resulting in it veering off the road and landing on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle died on arrival at Gwanda hospital whilst the police officer is still admitted at the same hospital.
Thousands of African Apostolic Church members had gathered at Irisvale in Inswazi in Umzingwane district since Friday.
The leader of the massively followed church, miraculous Paul Mwazha of Africa led the congregation.
