A 21-YEAR-OLD Mangwe man flew into a rage and allegedly stabbed his mother before ripping open her boyfriend's stomach after he found them having a nice time in his parents' bedroom.
Unani Maphosa from Dukwe Village in Madabe area could not believe that his mum, Sarah Nleya, was cheating on his father who works in Botswana.
He allegedly pounced on the pair, stabbed his mother on the hand with a kitchen knife and ripped Moses Ndebele's stomach open, leaving his intestines protruding, say prosecutors.
Maphosa yesterday appeared before a Plumtree magistrate charged with attempted murder.
Jane Phiri, for the state, said Maphosa arrived at their home at midnight on June 10 and found the two love birds enjoying themselves in his mother's bedroom.
"He went to check on his mother in her bedroom and when he was just outside, he heard some noises. He peeped through a window and saw his mother in bed with Ndebele," Phiri told the court.
"Maphosa then armed himself with a kitchen knife and forced open the door to his mother's bedroom. He went inside where he found Nleya and Ndebele naked."
Phiri said an infuriated Maphosa "stabbed Ndebele with a knife on the stomach leaving his intestines protruding".
He said the youth then "turned on to his mother and accused her of being a loose woman and a bad example to her children before stabbing her on the right hand."
Maphosa then fled from the scene, leaving Ndebele holding his insides.
Ndebele is currently admitted at the United Bulawayo Hospitals and is expected to make a full recovery.
Plumtree magistrate Gideon Ruvetsa remanded Maphosa in custody to June 26.
