Varsity student found dead

A 22-year-old Midlands State University (MSU) student who has been missing since May 28 has been found dead in Gweru.
According to sources at Senga police in Gweru, Tatenda Motsi took news of a terminal illness too hard.
"He went for some tests at a local clinic and whatever he was told there, made him lose his senses," said a police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity.
"He went to a female friend at the MSU halls of residence and told her they would never meet again. He went away and was never seen again."
The late Motsi was studying for a Bachelor of Science degree specialising in horticulture.
Motsi was supposed to sit for an examination at 12 noon the following day but his friend Smart Tembo reported that he was missing. Tembo then alerted Motsi's family and a missing person report was filed with Senga police.
Motsi's body was discovered on June 24. It was taken to Bulawayo for a post-mortem.
It was not clear where exactly the body was picked up. But Motsi's father, Ephrome, said the body was discovered along a river in Gweru.
"We are running around to obtain a burial order for Tatenda's body to be taken to Harare," Motsi's father told the Daily News from Gweru where he was organising a burial order for his son.
"His body was badly decomposed and the post-mortem in Bulawayo could not establish the cause of death. He had no particulars on him and was nearly given a pauper's burial."
