Abbigal Muleya's journey to America that started with a bus ride from Binga to Harare became United States President Barack Obama's anecdote of determination when he addressed 500 Washington Fellows during the Presidential summit on Monday at the Omni Shoreham hotel in Washington DC.
U.S. President Obama held a Town Hall in Washington D.C. for participants of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders on Monday July 28, 2014.
Obama made special mention of Zimbabwe's Young African Leaders Initiative fellow, Abbigail Muleya, when he addressed the 300 fellows attending a summit in Washington DC.
"One young woman from rural Zimbabwe took a 5 hour bus ride, then another 6 hour bus ride, then another 7 hour bus ride, a 2 day journey, just to get her interview," the President told the gathering.
