A 27-year-old man was yesterday arraigned before a Gweru magistrate for allegedly assaulting a prostitute and breaking her leg for drinking beer and dancing with another man.
Peterson James of Mkoba Village 9 in Gweru appeared yesterday before magistrate Vimbai Makora facing a charge of assault.
He was remanded out of custody on free bail to Tuesday next week for sentencing.
The state's case is that on 23 June at around 11AM, the complainant, Margaret Kachikira was in the company of friends drinking beer at Chipochangu bar at Mkoba Village 10 Shopping Centre.
