Man impregnates daughter to get rich

A father from Gokwe, Zimbabwe, is accused of raping and impregnating his 16-year-old daughter.
He stunned the Magistrates' Court by saying he was advised by a traditional healer to have sex with her so that he could get rich.
The man from Chief Mutendi's area also told Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja that he never raped his daughter, but it was had consensual.
He was remanded in custody to today.
The court heard that from October 2013 to January, the man took his daughter to a bushy area where he allegedly raped her on several occasions.
The offence came to light when the girl fell pregnant and told her relatives that her father was responsible.
The relatives reported the matter to the police, leading to the man's arrest.
