Widows garden project seeks fence donation
26 Aug 2014 at 07:42hrs | Views
The Gwanda Ward 1 Widows group is soliciting for assistance of a 120metres long fence to fence their garden project. It is expected that once operational the garden will help boost the incomes and subsequent livelihoods of the 20 widows that shall be directly involved in the project as the widows envisage doing market gardening for commercial purposes.
The widows will sell their garden produce to the community, the nearby schools and the Gwanda Town.
So far the local councilor has already been very helpful by facilitating the use of Wulube Dam for the establishment of the project. Widows Empowerment Trust is also assisting by soliciting for technical expertise to train the widows in market gardening.
Any form of assistance to make this project a success is very welcome.
