Preparations for the 57th edition of the Matabeleland South Agricultural Show which kicks off on Thursday are at an advanced stage with exhibitors drawn from different parts of the country expected to partake in the annual event.

The president of the show society, Mr Khuzi Tendele Ncube said preparations for the showcase are progressing well.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of various wares that will be on display this year.

The number of exhibitors seems to have increased from around 60 last year to 100 this year.

When the ZBC visited the showgrounds, exhibitors were busy putting final touches to their stands.

While traditional exhibitors have taken most of the space, this year's show has about 15 more participants, indicating growth of the agricultural show.

Among the exhibitors are livestock farmers and communal farmers, who will be showcasing various agricultural products following a successful agricultural season.

The theme for this year is 'Economic Recovery Through Holistic Approaches,' and is in line with government's economic blue print, ZIMASSET.

The show will be officially opened by the Minister of State for Matabeleland South Province, Abednico Ncube.
