IN a spine chilling incident, a 12-year-old boy from Ascot Infill in Gweru was electrocuted while playing with a kite.
The incident happened last week. A reliable source told the publication that part of the deceased's kite was made of copper wire so as he flew it, it got into contact with electricity lines resulting in current flowing from the poles to the kite.
"He was playing with his other four mates. They were all playing with their kites and unfortunately his flew near the electricity poles resulting in him being electrocuted," said the source.
The source also said that his clothes got burnt and only a piece of his shirt remained. His friends took to their feet to report the blood curling incident to their parents.
He was then ferried to hospital where he was immediately transferred to Bulawayo where he received further treatment.
He was doing his Grade 5 at Muwunga Primary School.
