The goblins hated the teachers with so much passion they would s*xually abuse the lady teachers and harass the male teachers at Ndangababi Primary School in Dete but ever since the teachers, including the head were transferred the goblins are now quiet and at 'peace'.

At a meeting in August, villagers pressured education authorities to transfer the teachers suggesting that they may either have been faking that there were goblins at the school or some of them actually owned the tokoloshes.

Fifteen teachers were targeted for transfer, but only four ended up being moved - the headmistress, the deputy head and two other senior teachers. The teachers had claimed that the tokoloshes were s*xually abusing them, stealing their food, money and made disturbing movements on roofs

The Matabeleland North Provincial Education Officer (PED) Boithatelo Mnguni told Chronicle on Monday that since the transfers to schools in the same district last month, there had been no reports on the presence of the goblins. The PED said she last visited the school on Tuesday last week when Grade 7 public examinations started.

I was there at the school at the onset of the Grade 7 examinations and I can confirm that there have not been any reports of any incident related to goblins," said Mnguni.

She said only four teachers ended up being transferred as some who were earmarked for transfer opted to remain at the school due to problems in getting places elsewhere.

A source at the school said the "dark" house at the school which was said to have been targeted the most by the goblins allegedly due to lack of electricity had since been electrified.

"We have not heard of any incidents since schools opened suggesting that the goblins have vanished. They seem to have left the school," said a teacher, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
