When it comes to money, rest assured a lot of things will be put on hold, as in the case of a Lower Gweru man who came back from the wilderness to claim lobola for his daughter.
Gideon Luphahla went back home having been away for a hiatus of seven years once he heard that it was "pay day".
Luphahla left his wife Beauty when the going was tough. He went to settle with a girlfriend in Masvingo.
"I was surprised and I am very angry that this man has just returned after hearing about our second daughter's lobola negotiations," Beauty said.
It seems Mr Luphahla will be in charge of the lobola ceremony even if his wife is against the idea.
"The sad part is that he is bragging that this is his home and that I am still his wife as we are legally married. He should have thought about that before he deserted me and the kids," she added.
Beauty narrated her ordeal to B-Metro.
She said when her husband left their home to spend seven years with a new lover, she struggled to make ends meet and had to do the worst of jobs.
"I struggled alone for the upkeep of these children. I would wash people's clothes so as to send them to school yet he was enjoying his money with his girlfriend in Masvingo," she said.
Gideon could not be reached for comment ashis mobile phone went unanswered.
