Transport minister Obert Mpofu today said those that lost elections in their home areas in the 2013 elections did not respect the people in an indirect attack on Information minister Jonathan Moyo.

Mpofu was addressing Zanu PF supporters at a victory celebration party in Binga.

Moyo lost the Tsholotsho North constituency to MDC-T's Roseline Nkomo wife to former Water minister Samuel Sipepa Nkomo.

The rift between Mpofu and Moyo has been widening following the Information minster's attack on his Transport counterpart for presiding over attempts by Zanu PF Matabeleland North province to suspend politburo members Jacob Mudenda and Sithembiso Nyoni last December.

Moyo reportedly charged at Mpofu at a politburo meeting saying the Transport minister had a body of an elephant and a mind of a rat.

Mpofu hit back at Moyo at the Binga party  saying, "If you see yourself losing elections in your home area where you live it means you do not respect the people."

Mpofu said he did not regret crossing the floor from PF Zapu to Zanu in 1980.
"I don't regret joining Zanu in  1980 and that's the best thing I ever did in my life," he said.

"I even convinced my wife (Sikhanyisiwe) to quit as a Zapu  councillor in Victoria to join  the Jongwe."
