Mphoko consoles Tsholotsho accident victims' families

Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has paid his condolences to the families of the 11 people who died in a car accident in Botswana last Saturday.

Mphoko also handed over groceries worth $7,000 which were sourced from Choppies supermarket and 200 litres of fuel for the vehicles which will be used to repatriate the bodies from Botswana on Tuesday.

Addressing mourners at Malila village in Tsholotsho, Mphoko said government is saddened by the loss and called on the relatives to trust in God as he alone can provide adequate comfort.

Various speakers expressed shock at the death of their relatives and friends and called on parents to ensure that their children are in possession of passports before they travel outside the country.

Names of some of the deceased are Davison Sibanda (31), Eunice Moyo(23), Menson Ncube (40), Sharon Moyo (22), Liston Mlilo(29), Bonita Ncube, Nozithelo Sibanda (22), Langelihle Sibanda (23) and Methuseli Sibanda.

The 11 died on transit to South Africa on the 10th of this month.

Meanwhile, government will assist each family with $200 to meet funeral expenses.
