THE bodies of some of the 11 Zimbabwean immigrants who died in a horrific car accident in Botswana two weeks ago are expected to be repatriated to their country this week, APA learnt here on Tuesday.
However, some relatives of the deceased are reported to have approached the relevant authorities saying due to financial constraints, they were not sure if they will have enough funds to transport the corpses to Zimbabwe for decent burials.
Senior superintendent Neo Kedumetse of Botswana Police stated that if some of the families fail to take their deceased ones, a decision would be reached between the relatives and the Botswana government to bury them locally.
Zimbabwean Embassy spokesperson Perfect Nyakudya declined to comment.
Yesterday the Zimbabwe government declared another accident which happened in Mashonaland as a national disaster but ignored the plight of the accident which affected families in Matabeleland.
