A NKAYI man cracked his neighbour's skull with a stone in a row at a borehole. The two allegedly argued over who should get their cattle to drink first.
Innocent Hlangabeza, 21, who is facing one count of attempted murder, allegedly hit Tawanda Dube, 22, with a stone on the head and he sustained a cracked skull.
Hlangabeza appeared before senior regional magistrate Mark Dzira and pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded in custody to March 13.
The State led by Tinashe Dzipe alleges that on September 30 at around 1PM, Hlangabeza and Dube were at Mandlethu Borehole. The two were pumping water for their cattle and they had a misunderstanding when Hlangabeza indicated that he wanted his cattle to drink water first.
Hlangabeza started assaulting Dube with fists and he went on to pick up a stone.
The court heard he struck Dube once on the head.
