Outstanding lobola cost man his wife

A Hwange man, Ronald Chiwara was remarkably dumped by his wife of five years for not fully paying bride price as his former in-laws accepted lobalo from a cash rich man.

Chiwara had been charged eight beats and managed to pay three.

Chiwara's former in-laws paid a surprise visit and told him they are taking back their sister due to outstanding lobola.

The woman,  Ester Mangwana had already packed his belonging ready to set off.

"Mangana's brother bluntly told Chiwara that they no longer recognised him as their son-in law because he had failed to pay bride price despite staying for five years,' B-Metro reported quoting a close source.

"He was also told that the woman had got a serious man who paid all the pride price and therefore should forget about her and their child,".

Chiwara told the publication that his wife left him two weeks ago.

"My wife left me two weeks ago and she was misled by her greedy brothers who demanded lobola from another man. They had charged me right beats for lobola and I managed to pay three.

"Since they have given my wife to another man, I will fight till they give me back my cattle," he vowed.

However,  Ester denied being married to Chiwara.

"He is lying, he never paid lobola for me and I moved out of his house because he abused me. He is jealous that now l am with another man," she boosted.
