People from Matabeleland have accused the government of continuing to marginalise them in development and issues of employment indicating that even minial jobs which do not need any educational qualifications are taken by the people from Mashonaland yet locals are not employed.
The developnments come in the wake of President Robert Mugabe currently facing a barrage of attacks from the people in the region for saying the Kalangas were uneducated peope who migrate from Zimbabwe to commit petty crimes in South Africa.
Christopher Mpala said, "Unbelievable statements by Mugabe showing the scenario that has existed since the so-called independence in 1980. Most people in Matebeleland unfortunately live in denial. Visit our border towns to see who runs the show. Even those lifting the boom gates are from the north. Does one need to go to school for that? Pathetic attitude from our northern neighbours."
He said, "Image launderers from our region are already singing for their dog meal trying to justify the unjustifiable."
