A man sneaked into a couple's bedroom and started tickling the wife while her drunken husband snored beside her.

The supposedly drunken man from Hwange District only woke up when his wife screamed after finding herself sandwiched between two men, a magistrate heard.

The intruder Stephen Moyo, 24, of Monde Village appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate Sharon Rosemani on Thursday facing charges of unlawful entry and indecent assault.

It is alleged that when Moyo was tickling the wife, the drunken husband was fast asleep.

Moyo was not asked to plead to the two counts and was remanded out of custody to May 25 on $200 bail.

He was ordered not to interfere with witnesses.

Prosecutor Listen Nare said on February 1 this year, Moyo sneaked into the complainant's bedroom in Ziwoya Village at night where he was sleeping with his wife.

Nare said Moyo quietly joined the couple, which was fast asleep, in bed.

The couple failed to detect that a stranger had joined them in bed, the court heard.

"On February 1, 2015 at the complainant's homestead, the accused entered the bedroom by pushing an unlocked door.

"The man and his wife were fast asleep and naked. While in bed, Moyo started tickling the complainant's breasts and touching her buttocks," said Nare.

The court heard that the woman woke up thinking that it was her husband only to discover that she was sandwiched between two men, one of them a stranger.

She screamed and woke her husband who immediately apprehended Moyo before alerting neighbours.

Nare said the couple took Moyo to the village head and the matter was later reported to the police.

Givemore Muvhiringi of Dube and Company is representing Moyo.

Last year, Moyo was dragged to court by a 49-year-old prostitute he had hired for sex and failed to pay her $10 service fee.

The woman had claimed that she was fast asleep when Moyo sneaked into her room and raped her.

She said when she woke up, she discovered that a naked Moyo was sleeping next to her and he bolted out leaving a used condom and pair of trousers.

The case was later withdrawn after it turned out Moyo was a regular client and the woman had reported him because he failed to pay for her services.
