Village head further remanded for ivory possession

A Tsholotsho village head who is charged with illegal possession of ivory has been further remanded for continuation after two alleged accomplices were found not guilty recently and discharged.
The village head Streck Vundla of Gombalume Village in Tsholotsho was denying the charge when he appeared before Hwange magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa.
His two alleged accomplices Blessing Tshaba both represented by Kholwani Ngwenya and Madlakadlaka Ncube (54) of Gombalume Village in Tsholotsho represented by Christopher Dube Banda were were discharged of the charges after the state failed to prove a case againmst them.
The state led by Blessing Tshabalala alleged that on March 7, 2015 at Mataka area in Tsholotsho Vundla was found in unlawful possession of two elephant tusks weighing 16,8kgs without permit or licence. This led to his arrest.
