Goat thief in trouble

A man from Fort Rixon in Matabeleland South who allegedly stole five goats belonging to his neighbour has got himself into trouble after he was arrested and dragged to court for stock theft.
Busani Sibanda (33) was not asked to plead to stock theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Isheunesu Matova who was conducting a court circuit in Mbembesi.
The magistrate granted him $30 bail and remanded the matter to May 13 for trial.
The court heard that on December 27, 2013 Kenneth Mjoli of Ngxiweni village let his 14 gots to the grazzing lands at Matanjeni grazing area where Sibanda went and allegedly stole five of them. He then allegedly sold one of the stolen goats to Sithembiso Dube who when found in possession of it disclosed that she bought it from Sibanda.
The total cost of goats stolen was $300 and only worth $60 was recovered.
A report made to the police led to Sibanda's arrest.
