The Gwanda Town Council has expressed optimism that its twinning arrangement with Ghana's Suhum Municipality will help enhance economic cooperation between the two towns and improve good governance.
A delegation from Ghana's Suhum Municipal Assembly is on a reciprocal visit to Gwanda to carry out an international peer review.
The review is aimed at assessing the local authority's performance in the area of good governance.
Suhum Town Chief Executive, Samuel Fliesher Kwabi is keen to see the two towns pursuing trade partnerships in the future.
The exchange programme is being carried out under the Strengthening Transnational Partnerships and Networks for Enhancing Local Governance Project.
Its objective is to support transnational exchange of lessons and good practices among local government associations and authorities.
