A Fort Rixon villager is in trouble after he allegedly sold two resettlement stands to fellow villagers at $500 each piece of land

Even Masuku (54) was not asked to pleaded to a charge of illegal sale of rural land when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa. The matter was remanded to July 29 for trial and he is out of custody.

The court heard that sometime in 2011 the complainant Bongani Nhenhe Sibanda went to Masuku and told him that he needed two resettlement stands.

Masuku allegedly misrepresented to him that $500 was needed for each stand.

Sibanda paid $1000 for two stands but Masuku never gave him a receipt as proof of payment. After receiving the money he allegedly gave Sibanda two stands at village 4B Ensangu in Fort Rixon. He then used the money.

Sibanda later reported the matter to the police after he established that he was illegal
