Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lt. General Phillip Valerio Sibanda, has called on uniformed forces to remain disciplined, patriotic and ready to fulfil the interests of the country despite attempts by western countries to use the black majority to effect regime change agenda.

Speaking at a Passout Parade for 478 male recruits who completed their training at 1.2 Infantry Battalion in Hwange, Lt. General Sibanda said Britain and America cannot be allowed to re-colonise the country through people who are not patriotic.

He called on the new recruits to remain law abiding, maintain team spirit, adaptability and discipline adding that government will continue to fight the challenges that affect the uniformed forces which are worsened by illegal sanctions imposed on the country by the west.

Responding to questions why there were no female recruits at the parade, Lt. General Sibanda explained that 1.2 Infantry Battalion does not have appropriate facilities for female officers hence they are referred to other stations with necessary facilities for their training.

Topics covered during the training include Physical Training, Navigation, Map Reading, Weapons Training and First Aid to mention but a few.

Government officials, captains of industry, traditional leaders and the community attended the event which was the second Passout Parade by the Zimbabwe National Army in the mining town.
