House intruder tries to rape sleeping woman

A man who intruded at a house in Mazizini village in Mbembesi and tried to rape a female occupant has been dragged to court to answer a charge of attempted indecent assault.
Mxolisi Mcwebi (21) of the same village was not asked to plead to the charge when he appeared before a Bulawayo magistrate Sheunesu Matova during court circuit in Mbembesi.
The magistrate placed the matter off remanded after the witnesses did not show up . She said the case will proceed by way of summons.
The court heard that Mcwebi went to Precious Dhlamini's home on December 19 2014 at 11pm where he sneaked into the house and into her blankets while she was sleeping before riding on top of her fond1ing her in the process.
Dhlamini woke up to her surprise that someone was busy touching her and pushed her off. But he grabbed her and tried to drag her out of the house but she screamed for help while holding him by his belt.
Mcwebi managed to get lose and ran away after the woman's aunt Cynthia Mhike came to her rescue. A report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
