Woman gets pregnant out of wedlock, dumps baby in Blair toilet

A 27-YEAR-OLD married woman Blondy Moyo dumped her new born baby conceived out of wedlock in a Blair toilet soon after giving birth in a bid to appease her husband.
The baby boy was discovered by a relative but died the following day at Plumtree District Hospital.
Moyo is being detained under police guard at the hospital.
Speaking from her hospital bed she said she got pregnant while on separation with her husband and when they reconciled he ordered her to abort.
"My husband had gone to South Africa last year and during that time we were on separation although we already had one child together. I remained behind and I fell in love with another man and became pregnant with his baby. We resolved our dispute with my husband but I didn't know that I was already pregnant," said Moyo.
Moyo said she was against abortion but her husband was continuously beating her up over the issue.
She said she gave birth in her husband's absence and she decided to throw away the unwanted child.
"I got into labour on Monday evening and I was alone as the children had already gone to sleep. I gave birth and I threw the baby in a toilet pit at our homestead," said Moyo.
"I then alerted my aunt who stays at a nearby homestead as I was in great pain. She's the one who discovered that I had dumped the baby in a toilet."
