A man from Cinderella in Hwange is in trouble after he tried to break into a resident's house before he was seen by the owner and ran to hide in a toilet where he was later apprehended.

Walter Bupete (18) pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Hwange magistrate Portia Mhlanga Moyo.  He was sentenced to 210 hours of community service at Mabinga Primary School.

In his plea he said, "I made a mistake and was afraid of getting arrested that is why i ran  into the toilet to hide because i was afraid of getting arrested."

Prosecutor Onias Nyathi told the court that on November 4 this year at 11.45pm Bupete went  Elizabeth Banda's home while the family was asleep with the intention to break in. While fumbling on the window trying to open, the complainant heard the sounds and screamed for help that is when Bupete ran into the toilet where he was later arrested while seating on the chamber pretending to be relieving himself.
