The President and First Secretary of Zanu-PF, Robert Mugabe has arrived in the resort town of Victoria Falls ahead of the official opening of the ruling party's annual conference tomorrow.
President Mugabe arrived this Thursday evening accompanied by the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe, who is the Zanu-PF Secretary for Women Affairs.
They were received at Victoria Falls Airport by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, the Minister of State for Matabeleland North, Cain Matema, and other senior party officials.
The conference takes place under the theme 'Empowering the People Through ZIMASSET.'
About 6000 delegates are expected to attend the conference which has been dubbed the economic conference because of its focus on economic development and the fulfilment of ZIMASSET.
The Zanu-PF annual national people's conference is held annually to review party programmes, resolutions of the previous conference and also chart the way forward.
Meanwhile, the Zanu-PF Spokesperson, Simon Khaya Moyo says all is set for the official opening of the conference which kicked off on Monday with the holding of a Politburo meeting, and was followed up by a Central Committee meeting yesterday.
Khaya Moyo warned those not accredited not to bother coming to the conference.
