The Beitbridge border is a hive of activity as thousands of people are flocking back into the country from South Africa in time for the festive holiday.

Zimbabweans living in South Africa popularly known  as 'Injiva' continue to make their way back into the country to spend time with their families this festive season .

To ensure the smooth flow of both human and vehicular traffic, Assistant Regional Immigration Officer, Mr Notius Tarisai said they have put in place robust measures to ensure efficiency at Sub-Saharan Africa's busiest port of entry.

Calls for the revamping of the border post are however growing louder as facilities are no longer adequate hence unnecessary delays.

Statistics show that between Friday the 18th of December and Sunday the 20th, 49 000 people entered the country through Beitbridge border post.

27 000 people left the country through Beitbridge during the same period.
