A Tsholotsho villager allegedly sent a lightning bolt to destroy a fellow villager's homestead as punishment for refusing to buy him beer.

The homestead at  Mahungule was reduced to ashes.

According to B-Metro, Major Moyo was drinking at Ngqoya shops when Aleck Nkomo demanded beer from him.

Moyo reportedly refused to buy him beer leading to an altercation which Nkomo threatened   Moyo with a lightning strike.

"Nkomo demanded to be bought beer by Moyo who refused citing that he didn't bring a child to take care of at a bar" said a source.

A fight erupted in which Nkomo lost.

As per his threats, Moyo's homestead was struck by lightning.

"l had taken the fight as  just another beer brawl but I was surprised last week when my homestead was reduced to ashes.

"It was in the evening and we were all in the kitchen. Suddenly, clouds gathered and it became dark. We were caught unaware. A kind of force I have never experienced" said Moyo.

"We only realised the inferno when the roof had already collapsed. All the property was destroyed including phones and documents' he added.

However, Nkomo denied that he was responsible.
