A BINGA granny who allegedly prepared bad beef stew was attacked by her granddaughter using a walking stick and locked her inside a house for two days without food.

Theresia Muzamba (34) assaulted her grandmother Malita Munkuli (75) whom she accused of failing to cook beef stew.

Villagers in Simatelele under Chief Siachilaba said Munkuli was discovered in a bad condition by a relative who visited her homestead.

Munkuli could not walk after being denied food for two days.

"Munkuli was discovered by a relative who visited her but she was badly hurt as she could not even walk and had wounds all over her body," said Mr Cabilo Munsaka, a villager.

According to Sunday News, Muzamba used a walking stick to beat up the old woman whom she allegedly said was in the habit of insulting her over useless things and had nothing good to say about her.

"Munkuli was taken to Simatelele Clinic where she was treated of bruises she sustained during the attack. She had swollen legs and head and deep cuts on the back. Her condition is fine at the moment," said Mr Munsaka.

Muzamba was arrested and spent three days at Binga police cells before she was released.
