Two women were severely beaten and left for dead by their boyfriends in two separate incidents in Gweru's Mkoba high density suburbs.
The two are recuperating at Gweru Provincial Hospital.
Gweru's Mkoba high density suburbs have been rocked by another spate of domestic violence barely two weeks after a 14-year old boy brutally murdered a 41-year old maid in Mkoba 20.
25 year old Winnet Takawira of Mkoba 4 is lucky to be alive after she was savagely attacked by her ex-boyfriend with a machete.
The woman suffered multiple head injuries, a broken arm as well as an amputation of her middle finger on her left hand.
The attacker has been identified as Joseph Mpandhle (35) from Shurugwi.
Mpandhle could not stomach that Takawira had terminated their relationship and had moved on with her life.
Narrating her ordeal to the ZBC News from her hospital bed, Winnet said she was attacked when she returned from work and was only saved by neighbours who rushed her to hospital.
Mpandhle is on the run and the victim is living in fear as she has been receiving threatening phone calls from the fugitive ex-boyfriend whom police want in connection with charges of attempted murder.
In another case, 26-year Linda Sibanda of Mkoba 10 was savagely beaten by her jealous 28 year old boyfriend Edious Nyawo.
The case was triggered by a phone call received by Sibanda's young sister and the jealousy Nyawo alleged a boyfriend had called.
Nyawo was arrested and is currently in police custody ready to face the music for the heinous act he perpetrated on a helpless woman.
