THE love for the wise waters has landed two Filabusi men in murky waters after it is alleged that they murdered their drinking colleague who had refused to buy them a round of beer.
Zivanai Ncube (28) and Tabonga Ncube (25) were arraigned before Gwanda magistrate Douglas Zvenyika facing murder charges.
The prosecutor, Mncedisi Dube, told the court that on 7 October at around 10pm, the two accused were in the company of the now deceased Conman Bhebhe having a beer binge at West Nicholson.
Little did Bhebhe know that his beer binge party will turn nasty when he refused to buy some more beers for his friends leading to an eruption of a quarrel.
The two brothers were angry with Bhebhe who had left them still craving for some more beer and as a result a fight broke out.
It is reported that Bhebhe armed himself with a knife and wanted to stab the two men, but his plan backfired as the two teamed up and disarmed him.
The court further heard that Tabonga took the knife and stabbed Bhebhe twice on the chest. After the ghastly knife attack the man bled to death. The two were not formally charged and were remanded in custody to 1 November. The magistrate advised them to apply for bail in High court.
