There was pandemonium at a Gwanda mining claim when some gold panners employed by one Metron Dube were attacked by the employer's son named Licious Dube and his alleged accomplice only identified as Eusuff who allegedly confiscated some of the gold ore the panners had extracted.

One of the panners Zwelibanzi Moyo had his ear struck with a machete during the scuffle on Saturday before the two confiscated the gold ore.

Moyo's colleagues had to contribute some money for him to go for medication.

"They produced a machete  and shocker they struck me with a machete on the ear," he said.

"We work for them they want to use us as slave and they took some ore we had produced."
