Sivondo Primary School in Nkayi has become a nightmare for teachers and pupils due to mysterious activists linked to witchcraft.
Teachers are said to be continuously falling sick.
Takunda Marufu, a teacher at the school reportedly collapsed during a school assembly.
He died days later.
Furthermore, two teachers are currently hospitalised after collapsing.
This has terrified villagers as only two teachers now man the school.
Others have since transferred.
A school meeting was called last week to tackle the issue.
A villager, Edmore Ndlovu said they have never witnessed the current events.
"Our children and teachers are no longer safe at the school.
"Teachers have never fell sick like they are now.
"We suspect the mystery events are caused by one of the teachers,".
A teacher at the school blamed the headmaster for not assisting them
"The headmaster is not concerned with the disturbing developments at the school.
"Whenever we suggest that we seek assistance from witch-hunters, he says we should only pray".
"We hardly sleep at night as we hear strange voices and movements on rooftops".
"What also shocked us is that the headmaster phoned the late Marufu while still admitted at Mpilo Hospital and ordered Marufu to return to the school saying Marufu has been aware for too long".
