THE Minister of Rural Development, Promotion and Preservation of National Culture and Heritage, Abedinico Ncube has said former Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru is daydreaming that she will run this country after the 2018 elections.
Giving a vote of thanks at the close of Zanu-PF's Matabeleland South provincial inter-district meeting in Gwanda on Saturday, Ncube said opposition leaders including Dr Mujuru were allowed to daydream as it was their right to do so, but they will never defeat Zanu-PF.
He said President Mugabe remains the party's candidate for the 2018 polls and he will romp to victory.
He said party cadres should not jostle for party positions as that causes divisions. "Let's unite and move forward as one entity. We should not mislead the revolution. We should work together and stop jostling for party positions. That divides the party. If one is chosen, let's rally behind that person. MPs in the province should also work together for the party to prosper," he said.
On the party's position that President Mugabe was the ruling party's presidential candidate for the 2018 harmonised elections, Ncube said: "We agreed that there's no-one except President Mugabe who is going to contest for the Presidential election in 2018. Isn't that so? So everyone knows that's our candidate come 2018 and there are no qualms about that."
Dr Mujuru formed Zimbabwe People First months following his sacking from both Zanu-PF and the Government for allegedly plotting to unseat President Mugabe.
