Another Beitbridge protestor granted bail

Former Beitbridge councillor, Morgan Ncube who handed himself over to the police on Wednesday has been granted $100 bail.

Ncube had been on the police wanted list since Beitbridge border post protests on July 1.

Today, Beitbridge, Magistrate Gloria Takundwa granted him $100 bail.

He is facing public violence charge.

Prosecutors claimed that Ncube, who was represented by Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights lawyer Patrick Tererai took part in the violent protests.

Ncube was remanded out of custody to 22 August 2016 for trial together with other Beitbridge residents.

Ncube's arrest brings to 31 the number of people arrested for allegedly taking part in the demonstration staged at the Beitbridge border post.

Early this week, Bulawayo24.com revealed that Ncube was going to himself over to the police soon.
