Matabeleland shrines neglected

District Heroes Arces in Plumtree and Beitbridge are in a state of neglect, government officials have said.

In Plumtree, at Bulilima-Mangwe District Heroes Acre located in Bulilima District Home Affairs Deputy Minister, Obedingwa Mguni who is also MP for Mangwe made an appeal to the community "from the border town and the two rural districts to contribute towards sprucing up the districts' shrine" he is quoted saying.

In Beitbridge, Senator Tambudzani Mohadi also " bemoaned the poor state of the district's shrine and challenged members of the community and local leaders to pull resources together, and upgrade the area".

However, according to state media reports there where no complaints on neglect in other provinces.

This has now been the norm for officials to raise the complaints which are not acted upon.
